With the purchase of exceptional wines from Nuits-Saint-Georges’ finest climats, the generous participants in this auction enable the region’s neediest to benefit from quality care in regularly maintained premises.
The recent renovation of the hospital and retirement home in Nuits-Saint-Georges was 50% financed by profits from the Hospices de Nuits wine auction, the concrete proof of the necessity and utility of such an event.
The auction also finances donations to various charity organizations such as l’Arche, Petits Princes, and Un pas vers la vie, which work for numerous causes.
Mode of Purchase: En primeur.
The wines will be purchased during the Auction of the Hospices de Nuits in March each year. Delivery is expected 18 months later.
We offer a Maximum Price per bottle prior to the sale. This “En Primeur” price is equivalent to a minimum discount of 10% on the estimated final price of the wines when we market them in two years. This price is set in relation to an auction level that we will not exceed. Thus, you know at the time of booking your maximum commitment.
Prior to the sale, and in order to validate your reservation, a deposit of 80% of the estimated Maximum Price will be requested. The Final Price will be calculated following the sale, based on the actual bid. The balance to be paid on delivery of the wines will take this bid variation into account and will be communicated to you following the sale.
What happens after the sale?
Different scenarios:
- We have managed to buy the cuvées you have reserved, at the expected auction level: perfect!
- We have not been able to buy the cuvées you have reserved or the auction level has exceeded the limit we had set ourselves: two options will then be offered to you:
- A refund of your reservation
- A replacement of reserved wines with another acquired cuvée of equivalent quality.
- In the event that the auction level falls below the level of the deposit, we will offer you a readjustment of the Final Price via a refund or an upward adjustment of the number of bottles reserved.
Following the sale, the barrels of the Hospices are delivered to our winery, where they will finish their aging, under the watchful eye of our team, who has been awarded multiple times Red winemaker of the Year 2020 and 2022, and in White winemaker of the Year 2021 by the prestigious International Wine Challenge.
They will be bottled 18 months later and then prepared for delivery.
This sale is a unique opportunity to reserve great wines en primeur and to participate in an ethical and solidarity event.
It is also the guarantee of investing in superb wines, from the most beautiful climates of Nuits-Saint-Georges: Les Saint-Georges, Les Boudots, Les Porrets-Saint Georges, Les Murgers,… the wines, purchased in primeurs, are then entrusted to our care and matured in our cellars among our wines. They are followed with the greatest attention until they are made available after just over a year of breeding. From 24 bottles, the wines are labeled with your name, and delivered in wooden cases decorated in the colors of the Hospices de Nuits.
