Johan Stoffels has discovered the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges wine auction.
Johan Stoffels, CEO of Vinetiq, Belgium and Netherlands wine importer talk about his feeling during the 59th Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges wine auction. The latest edition took place at the Chateau du Clos de Vougeot in Burgundy in march 2020.
Tell us about your experience of the Hospices de Nuits auction!
Meeting a couple that was making fantastic wine in south of France, Catherine and Laurent Delaunay.
They got me acquainted with the wines of burgundy and pinot noir and Nuits-Saint-Georges; and when I had the chance to be invited as a foreigner to attend today the 59 wine auction in the Clos de Vougeot with the good cause for the Hospices de Nuits.
I was really excited to attend. I learnt a lot about wines, we tasted an excellent vintage, it was 2019.
And we bought some bottles.
It was a fantastic weekend!
Johan Stoffels was invited to attend the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges wine auction by La Maison Edouard Delaunay. They have assisted him at the wine tasting and during the auction to help him buy selected cuvees.
